Class of 2011 Legacy Gift Campaign
Dear Classmates,
Congratulations on your upcoming graduation from Weill Cornell! It's hard to believe that we will soon trade in your student lab coat for a cap and gown! Once again, kudos!
As you now know, a tradition of graduating students is to establish a Class Scholarship to benefit future medical students. By establishing this endowed fund, the Class of 2011 will join 73 other Weill Cornell classes who also support class scholarships each year.
When a few of our devoted faculty members and administrators heard about this initiative, they enthusiastically made contributions to help launch the fund. Big thanks to Drs. Shari Midoneck, Mark Pochapin, Carl Miller and Estomih Mtui for their support! Additionally, Dr. Michael Alexiades and the WCMC Alumni Association Board of Directors also have agreed to match the total amount raised dollar-for-dollar. This "extra" support is really encouraging.
Today, we ask for your participation in this initiative. We hope you will make a gift to the Class of 2011 Legacy Gift Campaign to establish a Class Scholarship on the occasion of your graduation from Weill Cornell.
We suggest a symbolic gift of "$20.11" to acknowledge the year of our graduation. This amount is equal to a NYC pizza and a Coke. We realize that you might have to forego this delicious meal one night this week, and we appreciate the sacrifice. But we also hope you feel it will be worth it and that you are proud to plant a class legacy at the institution that gave you your MD.

Alternatively, you can give your donation in person at one of your graduation portrait sessions on Thursday, May 12 or Tuesday, May 17 or at the Alumni Association Welcome Reception on Monday, May 9. Please make your gift by Tuesday, May 17 as the Class of 2011 will be presenting Dr. Gotto with a big mock check at Convocation and we need a few days to get the check printed.
Finally, in the spirit of friendly competition, we would like to mention that the Class of 2010 raised $939 from 48 graduating students. While that's an excellent result...we're confident that the amazing Class of 2011 will surpass these numbers, raising the bar even higher for next year’s class!
