Computing for Researchers

Weill Cornell Medical College is dedicated to supporting its researchers with comprehensive, state-of-the-art computing resources. Faculty members have online access to cluster computing services, data center facilities, Internet 2 connectivity to the main campus, and many other resources. Initiatives currently in development include electronic submission of grants and contracts, application/database hosting services, and NLR connectivity.

ITS can help you with institutional purchases of computers, software, and computer accessories. The Medical College also has agreements with several reputable computer vendors who offer educational discounts to Weill Cornell staff for personal purchases.

Weill Cornell and Cornell University offer an array of resources for use on ITS-supported computers. These resources include software for viewing and editing DNA sequencing results, statistics, graphics, and more. Some software is free or can be purchased at a substantial discount through our internal web sites or a recommended vendor.

ITS provides a range of server computing services, including application and database hosting, centralized storage, and system administration. All users can take advantage of our enterprise-wide, multi-layered backup system with the additional benefit of off-site protection.

Investigators at Weill Cornell can request the establishment of a research profile page, which is designed to describe their ongoing research projects, provide a biographical sketch, and list publications as well as honors and awards.
To establish a research profile please send a request to rps@med.cornell.edu. You can access the new research profile system at http://weill.cornell.edu/rps to edit your existing research profile. .
