PA Program Curriculum

The Physician Assistant Program is currently twenty-six months in length. The first ten months are didactic in nature. Classes are generally scheduled between the hours of 8 am and 5 pm, Monday through Friday, usually allowing for a one-hour lunch break.

The didactic curriculum is rigorous and assignments generally require a great deal of evening study time and reading. Early in this phase, students are introduced to patient care by way of several transitional pre-clinical courses.

Although the PA Program utilizes the resources of Weill Cornell, our educational goals are separate and distinct from those of the medical college and its students, therefore, the PA Program curriculum does not include instruction along with medical students. Instructors are familiar with the needs of Physician Assistant education and tailor curriculum objectives accordingly.
